Getting to Crown Conference Centre
From Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport
Authorised taxis wait at designated taxi ranks at Terminals 1, 2, and 4, clearly marked with signage.
Victorian taxis are all metered - costs are typically between $60 and $75, including airport tolls and fees.
The Melbourne CBD is approximately a 20-40 minute fare from Melbourne Airport depending on traffic and time of day.
For your safety, please decline offers of taxis both inside and outside the terminals. This ensures licensed and safe drivers, keeping you away from potential scams.
Melbourne Airport has dedicated rideshare pick-up and drop-off areas to service all Terminals.
Uber:
Catching an Uber at Melbourne Airport is highly streamlined, utilizing dedicated rideshare zones and PIN-code matching at major terminals to cut down on wait times.
There are three Uber ranks across the airport:
Terminal 1 – turn left out of the terminal. Best for Qantas travellers.
Terminal 2 – curb-side location directly in front of the international terminal.
Terminal 4 Car Park – located on the Ground Floor of the Terminal 4 Car Park. Turn right as you exit the terminal. Best for domestic
travellers flying Jetstar, Rex Link Airways, or Virgin Australia.
Do not order your ride until you have completely collected your luggage and are ready to walk outside. Once ready:
Open the Uber app, enter your destination, and choose your preferred ride tier (e.g., UberX, UberXL, Premier).
Select the correct Terminal you are currently at
For standard UberX bookings at Terminals 1 and 2, you will not be assigned a specific driver beforehand. Instead, the app will generate a unique 6-digit PIN.
Walk straight to the designated Zone B queue at your terminal.
Move to the front of the line, approach the first available Uber driver, and give them your PIN. They will enter it into their device to officially start your trip.
Note: For premium options (like UberXL or Premier) or pickups at Terminal 4, the app will match you with a specific driver and assign you a numbered parking bay instead.
An Uber from Melbourne Airport to the CBD typically costs between $45 and $65 depending on traffic and surge pricing. This total
automatically includes a mandatory airport rideshare access fee.
Pick-up locations for other Rideshare services (including Didi and Shebah):
Terminals 1,2 & 3 – Lane 3 of the forecourt
Terminal 4 - Level 1, inside the Terminal 4 Car Park
SkyBus is the express airport bus service from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station, and has stops outside Terminals 1, 3 and 4.
Exit the airport and head to the nearest SkyBus stop to you (the international terminal is T2, and so you can either turn left or right and you'll find one either way).
Tickets can be purchased either in the airport, or at an ekiosk at each stop.
Fares are $25.90 one way or $43.40 return, and your ticket is valid for any date within 12 months of purchase.
Average journey time from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station is 30 minutes, with departures every 10-15 minutes from 4am to 1am daily.

If you are seeking a budget travel option, exit the airport and follow the overhead signs for "Public Transport" which will point you to the bus interchange on the ground floor of the T4 car-park.
Look for bus bay 17, and the Route 901 bus to Broadmeadows/Frankston.
Once the bus arrives at Broadmeadows Railway Station, disembark and catch the Craigieburn Line train to the city - Southern Cross Station. You don't need a special ticket - you can tap your physical or digital credit/debit card onto the reader to pay for your fare on both the bus and the train.
Typical fare is around $6 (classed as a 2 hour fare).

From Southern Cross Station
Southern Cross Station is the main hub for interstate & regional trains and buses, along with metropolitan train services
Make your way to Collins Street, near the Spencer Street corner, and board either:
- The number 12 tram towards St Kilda (Fitzroy St); or
- The number 109 tram towards Port Melbourne.
Disembark at the 2nd stop (124A Casino/MCEC Clarendon St), and follow signage to Crown Promenade Hotel, a walk of approx. 500m.
OR
Make your way to Spencer Street, near the Collins Street corner, and board the number 96 tram towards St Kilda Beach.

Exit the station and turn right onto Spencer Street.
Pass under the (noisy) Flinders Street rail overpass, cross over the Yarra River, and pass the main Crown Entertainment Centre entrance. Turn left onto Whiteman Street, and follow for around 350m.
Total distance approx. 1.1km.
From Flinders Street Station
Exit the station and turn right onto St Kilda Road.
Just before the bridge over the Yarra, turn right and head down the stairs to Flinders Walk.
After around 350m, veer left and take the Sandridge Bridge to cross over the Yarra River, and continue onto Southbank Promenade.
Turn left onto Queens Bridge Street and after around 240m, turn right onto onto Whiteman Street.
The venue is around 50m from the Whiteman/Queens Bridge Street corner.
Total distance approx. 1km.
